OMG!!! I used to watch these guys in The Swan back in the 80s - they were the most awesome band in the world! Thank you SO much for posting this, I will never forget the atmosphere & the amazing sound they would produce, I was and remain to this day a true fan. Have been searching for them for years :) SCHOONERS RIG - THE BEST!!!

Does anyone know if this is the same Schooners Rig that used to play in The Swan, Stockwell, South London way back in the 80s?? I used to LOVE them & would go there just to be mesmerized by their fantastic Irish sound :)

Hi Tony, you may not remember me . My name is Finbar Doyle and you helped me get my first Bodhran back in the early 90's. I believe it was calf skin from Pakistan. I live in Boston since 94 when Patsy jr the swan stockwell & myself came across the water for the world cup . Patsy went back and I stayed. Great to hear the songs here Tony. I've been playing here for almost 20 years and I credit you among the people who gave me a leg up , Johnny Slater, Ger Fennelly as well. How are you getting on?. Are you still playing the gigs?. I recorded a album in 99 and it did well here 8 originals and 4 Christy/Planxty songs.I rate Schooner' Rig amongst the best of Irish music Tony. I now have 4 feckin Bowrawns from all over the place.
